Lanfang Sun recently completed her PhD defense in Education at the University of Hong Kong and is currently a Visiting Researcher at the Education University of Hong Kong. Prior to her doctoral training, she taught both general Chinese and Chinese for specific purposes at the University of Pennsylvania and Tianjin University. With over nine years of teaching experience, she has worked with second language learners across diverse cultural, age, and proficiency backgrounds.

Her research examines the intersection of technology and language education, with a particular focus on: (1) technology-enhanced second and foreign language learning; (2) teacher education and professional development; (3) informal and out-of-classroom learning through social media; and (4) instructional design for diverse and multilingual learners.
